Welcome to the new Hill Press website and blog! We aim to make this platform a trusted resource for you, whether you’re just beginning your publishing journey or you’re well on your way.

We’ll be using the blog to tell you about our company’s mission, the publishing support services we offer, and our tips on navigating the self-publishing process as an independent author. We’ll also introduce you to our editorial team, our Hill Press and client authors, and the writing projects we’re all tackling.

Our Mission and Services

Hill Press is a small press dedicated to empowering independent voices. You write it. We help you present it to the world.

We work toward our mission in several ways:

We offer a range of editorial and publishing support services to empower independent authors to write, self-publish, and market professional-quality books. These authors retain their publication rights.

Currently by invitation only, we also publish books across a variety of genres through our Hill Press imprint. We look for perspective-shifting work and stories that need to be told.

We are preparing to launch the first annual Hill Press Literary Prize, a contest with a double mission. First, to recognize excellence in writing by already published independent and small-press authors. Second, to raise funds to support a publishing fellowship for authors who have important work to share but for whom funding the services required to produce professional-quality books would be a hardship. We will publish fellows’ work through our Hill Press imprint.
